News from the Cheryl

BCHC Members,

Please find attached a message from Redshank Riders regarding a

PACKING CLINIC on Saturday, May 31. You can go to their website:

 www.RedshankRiders.com as well.

Also attached is information regarding the CEA Gathering planned for

June 12-25 at Chaney Ranch near Warner Springs. This sounds like a

great place to camp. There are some corrals, so get your reservation

 in early.

You can also go to: www.cuyamacaequestrian.org to get a registration

form and more information. Contact Peggy Martin:

Also attached in the recent CEA Update from Peggy Martin. Their

website can provide this information as well.

 Los Vaqueros Horse Camp

We'll be heading up to horse camp this weekend. We've got not only a

bunch of San Diego Unit members, but also members from the Redshank

Unit and Los Padres coming! We'll be working on clearing the Sugar

Pine Trail, which has been closed since the Cedar Fire. We'll also

enjoy the company of park Superintendent Nedra Martinez on Saturday

 evening.

The Californian Trails & Greenways Conference is here in San Diego,

May 28-31. This is a great opportunity to learn and network.  Go

to:http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=24151 or Google: CA Trails &

Greenways Conference. Hope to see you there!

The San Diego Unit is planning a couple of get-together rides and

campouts. We're looking at calendars and we'll be setting some dates

here pretty quickly and will let you know.

Happy Mother's Day and Happy Trails,

 Cheryl

Also, our officers have changed. I will get photos of Terry Hamilton, our Public Lands person, Pat Peters, our Treasurer, and Patty Heyden, our Education Chair. Ingrid Tighe is our newsletter editor.

The link to County Parks takes you to the bottom of the Current Projects page, which that's not a bad page to go to, but it should take you to the top, yes? I know, I'm a critic, right?

And maybe the Double Diamond Award news can go on the New area of the front page for now. Or be a link to a page like the Current Page, where things will stay for a while, just move down as other news comes on. I'll get some photos of our weekend. The photo you have of Buck Ward is last years Rendezvous.

I have attached a couple of photos for you to use. The first two is of myself representing BCHC/SD at the East County Celebration of Parks held at Lindo Lake on April 19th. I had the foresight to bring my rope, which proved to be a great move, as it gave me an opportunity to interact with people, particularly kids.

The other photo is not great, but it's important, as it was right after Patty Heyden and I did our first Wilderness Rider presentation at Rendezvous in March this year. We had rave reviews from a couple of Master Wilderness Riders and others in the audience.
